Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and Mt. Zion Progressive Baptist Church to host “The King and I” Music and Lecture Series

More than 300 youth invited to celebrate legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

St. Petersburg--The ladies of Zeta Upsilon Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. are proud to announce “The King and I” Music and Lecture Series to commemorate and honor the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The celebration will encompass three days of activities including a showcase of gospel music and lecture.

In collaboration with the Youth Development Foundation of Pinellas County and the Mt. Zion Progressive Missionary Baptist Church, the event is expected to bring together more than 300 youth and families each day to participate in program activities that promote peace and uphold Dr. Martin Luther King’s legacy.

The events below are free to the public at Mt. Zion Progressive Missionary Baptist Church, 955 20th Street South in St. Petersburg:

  • Jan. 18 – Gospel Music Fest, 7 p.m. – 9 p.m.
  • Jan. 19 – Lecture Series, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
